MAJOR CHANGE IN MD AUTO INSURANCE LAW

Effective January 1, 2011 pursuant to House Bill 825 the state required bodily injury liability limits will be raised to $30,000 per person and $60,000 per accident from $20,000 per person and $40,000 per accident. You may be saying to yourself "so what how does that effect me". Guess what...it does effect you unfortunately. Your price for all insurance companies offering basic liability will go up because of this new law since the insurance company has more exposure. However, the bright side will be that you have more protection from a person who may sue you for bodily injury due to an accident. The real skinny on this new law.....you will not benefit because most bodily injury settlements are below the old law requirement of $20,000. So what should you do! If you do not have insurance now...it is time to get insurance ASAP at the old lower rates and this will be good for 1 year. This is very confusing to people who are not working in the insurance industry. Therefore, WE recommend that you call SENATE INSURANCE at 1-800-622-9333 for help in explaining the law change and how Senate can protect you at the lowest price and best service to include our exclusive monthly payment extensions.
